I found the dogwood bracelet in my mother’s things. It is a Stuart Nye design, who has been a staple of Appalachian jewelry making since 1933. I believe she’d had that bracelet and the matching necklace and stick pin since the 1950s. Although the dogwood is probably Nye’s best known design, he also had a steady catalog of other Appalachian flowers and designs which are still selling to this day.
The lapis bracelet is Zuni, and the other one is a Navajo piece with a small Dry Creek turquoise.
Just wanted to share the East-West coverage on my arm today.
