A Mystery to Me

using this image trying to find anything with a similar design on the rails came up dry

Beautiful cuff. The small serrations on the bezel seem too small for such a substantial stone. Usually, the bezel edges go above the stone to help keep it in place.
The unevenness of the twists below the bezel are also interesting.
Same with the two different thicknesses of the swirls.
I am very intrigued.

I looked closer at the twist. I don’t think it’s actually twisted; I think it’s lines etched (stamped?) into the silver to look like it’s twisted.

Good catch. It is stamp or file marks not twisted wire.

Do you have an inkling on age?

As to those serrated bezel edges catching on clothing - use a smooth plastic toothbrush handle and push them back down in place. Lay the cuff on its side on a table be gentle but firm - burnish that bezel smooth. Go around the bezel a couple of times and all those errant teeth should be back in place.

Oh! That is brilliant! I never thought to do that. I will certainly continue to search for more info on Google this way. Thank you for sharing that! O

Amazing observations. The bezel does seem so small for such a large stone. And upon closer inspection the rim of it looks to be stamped and not twisted wire. I never even noticed the difference in sizes on the side coils but they are slightly different. Thank you for sharing your hawk eyes! O
