Any insight on this beautiful piece?

Hello Owl!

Although I am no expert, the Yazzie family of jewelers are well respected and known for impeccable high quality jewelry. I have seen other Yazzie family buckles sold in New Mexico trading posts starting at $595 to $625 and up.

Hello, thanks for sharing. This buckle is a Navajo made piece. The piece of turquoise could be Sleeping Beauty. I would call this 1980s - 90s. It is difficult to tell from the picture what exactly is the gold fill and what is the silver. I am assuming the leaf work is the gold fill, possibly the bezel around the stone? Gold fill looks nice against silver and is a replacement for those who don’t want to pay the high price of real gold. I came across the name Wilson Yazzie who was active beginning in the 1970s, this is possibly your maker. It has an interesting buckle back, more the style you see on a concho belt. It might be a tight fit for a regular leather belt. Hope this helps.
