I am new to this forum. I tried to post something yesterday but am not sure I did it correctly so if this is redundant, please pardon !
I inherited this fetish from my Mom who collected for many years. It does not have heishi beads and does have a wrapped cording so is it Native American? Don’t know. The interesting thing is that the carvings fit together like a puzzle. I have never seen that before. Also many of the pieces have texture to them… brownish rough areas. There is some nice carving detail.
It also needs repair as the cotton cording broke. Which leads me to another question…if I restring it without the wrapped cording, does that devalue the piece?
