Bought this turquoise ring, could this be genuine turquoise?

Hi everyone,

I recently bought this turquoise pendant from gemyena and I’ve been really enjoying wearing it. I mainly bought it because I love the color, but I’ve also read that turquoise is considered a protective and calming stone and is said to bring positive energy and emotional balance.

I’m still learning about turquoise, so I was wondering:
Does this look like genuine turquoise to you?
Are there any other traditional benefits or meanings associated with this stone?

I’d really appreciate your opinions and expertise. Thanks in advance!

I’m confused. That’s not a pendant, it’s a ring  And I would say the stone looks like dyed howlite or something as versus turquoise (maybe not even actual stone). IMO sellers say all kinds of things about the supposed properties of stones in order to sell them.

Edit: I do see you say ring in the title, but you have pendant in the copy, so I’m just making sure you’ve posted the correct picture.

Hello, Is this an ad for your own website? The internet says you’re a French “influencer.”

Short answer is, this is a $22 USD ring. Obviously, inexpensive costume of whatnot parts.

Nice looking stone (likely glass). You’ll want to avoid the ring catching on clothing and skin. Never wear with knits.

It looks like glass to me but, for $22 that’s about all you’d get.

It’ll be even more expensive when the banana turns black & mushy:grin:
Per CNN, the banana has been replaced twice after it was pulled it off the canvas, peeled and eaten. You can’t make this stuff up:woozy_face:.

You’re right, that was my mistake. I meant ring, not pendant. The photo is definitely the correct one.

Thanks for pointing that out! I was hoping it was genuine turquoise, but for the price i believe it’s not now. I’m still learning.

Thanks for your reply. No, it’s not an ad or my own website. I was just wondering if anyone here had any experience with jewelry from Gemyena and whether they use genuine stones or not.

And yes, you’re probably right, the price is very low. Thanks!

I looked at the turquoise on that site, and none of it looks like actual turquoise IMO. It all looks like this (two pics from their site)…

The extreme threadiness of the matrix screams fake to me. I can’t speak to any of the other stones on the site, but I wouldn’t trust it. And honestly when a site starts out by touting all the supposed healing properties of turquoise, red flags go up in my mind. I think these places get away with calling something “turquoise stone” when they should really be saying “turquoise colored.” I don’t even know for sure if it’s actual stone; it could be glass like mentioned above, although these don’t look so shiny, or block.
