That’s too fun. At first I thought the bird on the front was a hood ornament, now I think he’s also going along for the ride!
@Steve, that one definitely fits the bill. However I would always be sad for the bunny

Definitely! My jack rabbit earrings have what looks to me like little cliffs. But cactus and canyons was a better topic name
Love your ring! There is a little hogan and a lady making a rug on it too, which fit right in. Main reason I started this thread is because we’re heading to AZ next month. We’re going to be driving through the western edge of the Navajo reservation so anything related goes!
Oh my…initially I was sure I didn’t have anything to share in this category, but I’m enjoying the many wonderful artists posted here. @chicfarmer fabulous Victor Coochwytewa cuffs takes my breath away! Then I saw @OrbitOrange pieces by Daniel Coriz and thought yea!,…I do have a few to add to the mix:
First, Daniel Coriz’ wonderful silver overlay:
Awesome! Love all of it.
@Bmpdvm I love your Joseph D. Coriz collection! The necklace especially. All my stuff by him is pretty small and simple, but I would love to have one of his more elaborate pieces.
I love his work too! I picked up mine one at a time over many years…the earrings were first, then the cuff. Actually, the earrings were simple posts; I had them converted.
I haven’t seen his rings, I really like your elongated rectangle ring, and of course the wonderful turtle (though, I wish it was a pin😄).
I love seeing artist I’m unfamiliar with…thanks for making me aware of the fabulous work by Clarence and Russell Lee…may be one or two in my future😉.
It’s so funny that when I started this thread, I wasn’t even thinking about pueblos and hogans. So I took a picture of two Hopi pieces (both of which I’ve posted on here previously) that feature pueblos. I put them on my Pictorial rug that we bought at Ogg’s Hogan. The buckle (oops! it was a buckle, I had it converted) is by Leon Lomakema, and the cuff by Eddison Wadsworth Soohafya. I also linked this video from a shop in Bluff, UT. The gentleman is discussing a buckle by Mr. Soohafya, and it’s interesting, because he talks about how to look for good Hopi work. He said Eddison started working around '84; I bought the buckle about 1990ish, so he would have been a newer artist at that time.
I love that Gila monster ring! So cool!!
So jewelry wise I’m not adding anything new, but rather than start another thread, I thought I would put this here. I also slightly changed the headline in case people have more jewelry to fit this category.
While we were in Bluff we went down to the Sand Island Petroglyphs. In two places I saw what totally reminded me of my frog cuff (especially the second photo), and it made me smile. Check it out!
I said to my hubby that something like these could have inspired the cuff (although of course so could the real thing ).
Love it! I totally see the resemblance. And those are great petroglyphs, I always love searching them out when I’m in the southwest. Have you been to Petroglyph National Monument near ABQ and is it worthwhile? Have we discussed it on the forum before?
I know, right!? I was actually kind of excited when I saw the frogs. It’s fun to pick things out of the carvings. We saw what totally looked like a caribou
Yes, when we were last in ABQ visiting my other nephew, he took us to Petroglyphs Nat’l Monument. I would say if you’re in the area it’s completely worth it. But the one that was REALLY worth going out of the way for was Sego Canyon north of Moab. That was pretty otherworldly.
On this last trip we also visited Newspaper Rock State Park in Utah. That was pretty dang amazing too, but way out of the way unless you’re going to the Needles District of Canyonlands, which is not near the more well-known parts of the park. But it was a gorgeous drive, and ended up being one of my favorite things of our whole trip.
The aliens!!! 20 characters.
oh my gosh, I didn’t even see her when we were there
Thanks for sharing these, Zia. This is a subject I find fascinating and really enjoy studying.
I feel that this similar to a Rorschach inkblot test, in that any given person will see what they want to see. But I see a head on view of a bison, with its head hung low and a broad, tall back rising above it’s horns. But that’s just me.
I said that exact thing to Don last night! He said he also sees a hippie with a beard and mirrored sunglasses
Also looks like some sort of space pod taking off or landing, you can see the exhaust streaks
