Pudding stone, Michigan. And, Ohio flint.
The Pudding Stone was collected by a friend. He also made the pre-form cabochons and I polished them.

Sugilite cabs…don’t have any jewelry, but love the gem!

Suglite is so pretty. Are you going to have jewelry made from some of them?

Following up on sugilite, my Kirk Smith sugilite earrings. These are on the large and heavy side, so only occasional wear for me.

@fernwood, that was likely the original intent, but I wanted to work with a NA jeweler. That was quite a while ago, and one of the artist I was considering has passed away. Still may have a pair of earrings made with the matching dark teardrop cabs…or not. I did find this Richard Begay pendant I had forgotten about:

Those are so nice…that deep almost translucent Sugilite! Rare to see that quality of sugilite available today😊

@Bmpdvm thank you!! I’ve had that necklace a long time and the deep purple color is deeper than what I usually see. Don’t know who made it, though…I tend to get a lot secondhand and usually no artist known.

Love the sugilite! Very different with its fuscia coloring. Don’t have much of that, just one necklace.

I’m not sure why but this pendant reminds me of van Gogh The Starry Night.

This is exactly what I was seeing in the @Xtina charoite. Thank you.

There’s a sizable chunk of gem sugilite that was used for the face in my Esther Wood kachina necklace! I purchased it and had it at home taking pictures when I saw a glint of purple! Prior to that, having seen it only under the stores fluorescent lighting, I thought it was onyx!
I guess I could mention the neon green gaspeite too!

That’s a fabulous necklace! What a sweet discovery to make that the stone is sugilite.

Breathtakingly beautiful! I am in awe of the talent displayed in your necklace. That is a piece we would never see for sale in the mid Atlantic, SW VA.
