Frank Patania Sr pendant

@Bmpdvm Thanks! I just looked up Julian Lovato and whoa, the prices of his pieces are quite high! The matrix on the pendant are like a dark brown/reddish color. Attaching more close ups.

Yep @TaraFawn75…this is a great example of seafoam, and a great old piece!

@Sparky Yes, recently Julian’s jewelry is hot! Closer-up, I think the matrix in your pendant is likely natural. Wonderful Patania pendant !

This is the seafoam from my collection. It’s more greenish.

You are correct that Julian Lovato’s pieces are very pricy. Check out Medicine Man and Spartania if you want to see more. Patania commands a pretty good price also.

Thank you @Islandmomma! It’s all so amazing.

Ok so I am going to start a new post on seafoam/nugget and the matrix thing. I have 2 rings that are examples.

@Islandmomma Oooh, classic FP! Love the pendant, chain and broach. The lapis bracelet is great; haven’t seen any of his work in Lapis! Thanks for sharing your wonderful pieces!

The seller and I both thought it was Lapis. I found out later that is actually shattuckite. I had to look that one up because I knew nothing about it. It pairs well with Lapis though.

dunno why I keep stumbling over connecting stuff…maybe if I’d go out & shovel some blanking snow,it wouldn’t happen?
anyway, found this last night…ebay item number

I found it. A lot of it is light but there is dark too.

didja see the “rough turquoise” in the description?

No I only looked at the pictures. Guess I need to go back. I do know it’s fairly soft material. Let me go check.
Their description lists it as hard material. I’d swear that I heard it was fairly soft.

Lol…I was chuckling, thought it was a joke…interesting that neither of us has heard of it. I have seen Sodalite, which is something like lapis. Anyway, I’ll look it up. Thanks for the clarification!

Look at the eBay listing number above that Newpawn posted. It’s rough shattuckite.

“shattuckite” OK, I looked it up. Evidently it is “very rare” and was first discovered in 1915 in the copper mines of Bisbee, Arizona, specifically the Shattuck. So there you go! Interesting the variety of colors…
