Thought I would show a few more pieces before they go into the shop.
Isle Of Wight glass set up by Micheal Harris who developed the modern hot room studio system; before him glass was only made by teams in factories. All hot rooms and studios are standing on his shoulders.
All Isle Of Wight
Cylinder vase, two birds and perfume all with gold adventurine
That is wicked

I like the sacred colour stripe along the bottom nice hidden feature to a very pretty piece of glass
That is pretty cool.
I love these. I don’t see many that aren’t clear when I’m thrifting but I’m sure I will eventually ![]()
@CyanideRose18 i have very good success buying at swap meets / car boot fairs and also from flea markets and glass is one of those areas even very experienced full time traders often know little about. All the pieces in my first post 1650-1680 bottle bought for £8 about 12 USD the Vanini bought for less than 5% of its value from an antique trader, the Dragonfly vase for pennies in the pound you can win with the right knowledge. Most of the pieces I have posted i got for 10% of resale price I can get. You have to read a lot use lens and everything you get deep dive internet and then apply the same learning techniques you have to jewlery. If you love glass there is room to win.
Look for multi colour art glass like I have posted. Stay away from glass that is brown, black, beige, most pure orange, pure yellow or pure pink. These tend to only slowly sell or you get stuck with. When people start trading they tend to buy any or everything they find, eventually instead of getting 10 pieces look for 1 great piece for the same you could have got that 10 for. These days I might see 800-900 pieces and buy 10-15 only from antique traders. Ask me anything I’m happy to share knowledge
Wow, thanks so much. That’s good information to know. I love the colors much more. I haven’t been out looking in a while, I may go take a look next week ![]()
