The comment about Eureka Turquoise is interesting! I’ve never heard of it, but as a Nevada resident, I know the Eureka area quite well. As you likely know the No 8 Turquoise Mine is (was) located in Eureka County Nevada. I’ve heard the mine is now totally encompassed by a gold mine. But, your thought about No 8 makes sense! The term “Eureka Turquoise” is fairly encompassing since there were many mines in that area, but I also feel this cuff could likely be No 8.

Nice collection. I’m partial to the first one you posted, with those three deep turquoise stones with chocolatey matrix. The last bracelet could possibly be Royston.

@Bmpdvm interesting. I actually didn’t know, or forgot, that the #8 mine was in Eureka county. The stone certainly has the look of number eight. One thing that’s interesting though is the unusually high dome, which I’m not sure I’ve seen in number eight.

This one was sold to me as Candelaria turquoise .One of the stones is clearly cracked but the obvious flaw made in impossible to overlook the offer

That would’ve been an expensive cuff when sold. Verdy is very talented and uses high-grade natural turquoise. A lot of her work was sold in the late 90s-early 2000s. Also one of the relatively few female Navajo silversmiths. Congrats!

@astra another beautiful cuff that I’d take any day over your one that got away. It’s a shame about the cracked stone, but if it’s secure and made it so the price was right, that’s a win!

@chicfarmer She sort of remains unknown in Japan for some strange reason. Coincidentally, the person who sold me the sky blue dome (no. 8?) shaped turquoise cuff also had this one and the moment i laid eyes on it, i knew i had to get it too. He seems very knowledgeable about several NA artists and their backgrounds. He was especially fond of this one is the impression I got. He said something about how people don’t find turquoise, turquoise finds them… i’m definitely most intrigued and mesmerized. Thank you for your insight, dear
