I’m hoping to get some insight on a substantial vintage sterling silver and turquoise cuff bracelet that appears to incorporate a genuine bear claw. The piece weighs 150 grams and has no hallmark or maker’s mark, which I understand is not uncommon in older Native work.
The craftsmanship suggests maybe Navajo (possibly 1970s–1990s), but I’d love feedback from those more experienced. I’ve come across information suggesting that selling items containing real bear parts may be restricted or illegal in some areas, even if the piece is vintage. I want to make sure I fully understand the regulations before considering any next steps.
If anyone recognizes the construction style, stone work, or has thoughts on origin, I would sincerely appreciate your expertise.
I have this vintage silver & turquoise cuff bracelet with a genuine bear claw, I’ve been trying to research information about it as there is no hallmark or markings on it but what I’ve read online it’s illegal to sell items with real bear parts even if vintage. Would love any help with information if anyone recognizes it’s style or origins?
