Help Identifying this Turquoise

This is a blue turquoise with black matrix. I hope my photos capture it. Any idea as to the value of the necklace would also be appreciated.

your photos are a little washed out - you might try again, without flash, in natural light. it looks like it’s strung on cord or sinew, if i’m seeing what looks like braided twine draped over the shoulder in the larger photo.

See if this captures the matrix better

I don’t believe this to be turquoise. It’s resin imitation turquoise or magnesite, or possibly howlite. At least that’s my impression. What were told about it?

This sort of material:

I agree with Chic. The additional photo above isn’t giving me a lot of confidence that this is actual turquoise.

i do see that this is a photo of the jacla - the pendant section of the piece, rather than the main body of the necklace that appears to be strung with a different shell heishe rather than with blue-colored heishe between the nugget pieces. do you have a closeup in natural light of those nuggets, or are they the same as in the jaclas?

Agree with both. I was thinking the matrix looks…weird.
