I came across these earrings at a thrift store, and at very least love the bison design. I looked into the jeweler’s mark, and it seems to belong to Verdy Jake. Can anyone tell me about this creator? This doesn’t look like other pieces by her, but the mark looks real.
I also would like to know about the stones themselves. I tested them against heat and with acetone, and they weren’t affected at all. Can anyone tell me about the type, or any identification?
You’re right, we don’t think of this as being a Verdy Jake style. However, she is a piece worker and will make what you ask her to. She is probably and her 60s and from the Thoreau area. I would call this Chinese Turquoise.
