Real Lander blue test out at almost equal parts of chalcosiderite and turquoise that being 38 & 41 percent of each the rest is bla bla bla. West Texas lab has results on file talk to kevin
Oh yeah, item in question is Lander blue
So I don’t know if the pendant in question is actual Lander Blue or not, because I am definitely not an expert. I’ve only seen a very small amount of it in person. But just last week we were in a store in Moab, and spent a long time talking to the owner, Tony Lema. It was almost closing time, we were the only people in the store, and he was still pulling out beautiful turquoise pieces and cool old Navajo rugs to show us (he had beautiful rugs for sale, but was showing us things he had NFS). Finally he asked us if we wanted to see a Lander Blue ring. He went and got out of a safe in the back room a Charles Loloma (showed us the hallmark) gold ring with what he claimed was Lander Blue. It was FABULOUS.
I will say it did not have the black sections of matrix that this pendant has; it had the look of the Gene Waddell stones that @Bmpdvm posted.
I love how so many of the store owners enjoy talking and teaching about Native art. I only bought a small pair of Hopi earrings, but he was interested in the jewelry I had on which began a fun conversation.
