Latest work in process

Well, this image is now my Windows Desktop Wallpaper!

I stole it and it’s mine forever!:sunglasses:

I have collected 1911s since 1977 and can honestly say that this one would bless the collection! The grips finish the handgun. I agree that sterling might have been better…perhaps, but the aluminum is very nice.

My preference for grips on my show guns is mammoth/mastodon. Now that I’ve seen these, I will reconsider my choices.

Appreciate it, @Bisquitlips . Honored that you used the work as your wallpaper. Another tip of the hat to @Steve , for his excellent work compositing the image of the firearm and grip for the full effect of the grips on the gun.

I’m on the lookout for another well loved and wear worn Springfield 1911 for myself because I love the look and feel of this gun. There are plenty of sparking shiny new 1911s out there, but somehow they just don’t have the character of one that has the patina of years of carry and use.

You’ll no doubt find the perfect candidate, Mike. Patina and honest wear beat shiny and new every time! I’ve always been attracted to the rugged and well worn, the character inherent with those qualities is time tested, wizened, and genuine.

I’ll go off the deep end and equate it to my family gatherings years ago. While everyone’s company was enjoyable, I would invariably gravitate to my grandparents, whose stories and recounting of adventures was far more intriguing than someone’s new car.
