My Leather Craft Journey

Thanks Mike! I’m trying to improve, while going in my own direction with it

thank you! I like the leaf design, and I might make more with this theme.

thanks, I really like my “new” cuff! I really needed someplace to dump all my jewelry after work. And the leather lining makes for a soft landing.

Really a pleasure to see your leather work developing and maturing so beautifully @Stracci. I’m seeing a bit of Nimschke-esque flare emerge with the markedly more confident, cohesive flow in your unique emerging style. Truly wonderful, attractive work!

@mmrogers Thanks you so much for the nice words, Mike.
I think I’ve improved in the 3+ months I’ve been doing this. I still need to research more about stitching and other areas of the craft. There’s still so much to learn!

Another one. I need a box to keep the tumbled rocks in …

This one is a Chinese Dragon, chasing the flaming pearl of wisdom.

@Stracci Ooh, dragons! You’ve crafted a beautiful & marvelous rendition of this mythology. As always, your talent shines. (Methinks you should put a pearl in this box along with your rocks:smiling_face:.)

Thanks @Patina !

I thought about mounting a pearl on the top there, but I would only want to use a genuine pearl, and I don’t have one that big. Plus, it would have to be sliced in half. Maybe one day I’ll find a freshwater coin pearl that will work.

Nice! Great job on those scales. How did you make the small etchings that is the shade around the dragon?

Thanks @nanc9354 !

These are the two stamps I used around the dragon.

The rectangular shaped one is called a beveler, and the other is called a background shader.
