I took another hard look at the back, and I had to agree with you! Then the blackening just had to go.
It took a while to sand down far enough. I was surprised at how hard this stone was!

All the while, I kept repeating to myself something a very wise man once said to me. (My neighbor)
“It’s mine and I’ll f*ck it up if I want to”

Luckily, the turquoise gods were with me on this, and it worked out ok.
Haha!

@Ziacat I’m pretty happy with the result!
It makes me more excited to work it into a ring or pendant now.
