@Shannon Hi & Welcome. Can you please post a photo showing the hallmark on the cuff itself. Thx.

Is there a stamp/hallmark for silver content? Is this sterling silver, do you know? I might be offbase, but I wonder if this is an Asian mark, maybe numerals. In that case the piece would of course be an import. The rough finishing on the cuff reverse, with damage visible, is not what one expects in Native work.

Hopefully others can advise further.

From what I understand the hallmark is in the native american database but never identified. From what I know from looking at it it has been repaired several times. The edges are severely worn. Per a ai engine hallmark showed up in the sixties then disappeared.

Thanks,

Shannon

Thank you for posting the additional photos. That hallmark is a real challenge, imo. What is it?? Even though I have a book on NA/SW hallmarks, I don’t know how to begin searching this. To me, the cuff could be either Native American or Anglo made. Good luck on your continued search. Let us know if you get a positive ID on that hallmark.

My wife, shared with Medicine Man galleries jeweler.

He said it is probably from the 60s native made. Is familiar with the hallmark but confirmed it has never been identified. Said it’s been worn very thoroughly, and do not repair. Just cherish it. He said it would be a very hard fix , possibly ruining it.

I have a very similar shadow box cuff (but without as much wear) probably made in the seventies that I know is Navajo, because of who I purchased it from (mine has a different hallmark than yours that I’ve also never identified). So I’m not surprised that they felt yours was Navajo made. Mine is not a high-end cuff, but I love it anyway, and I hope you enjoy yours. Thanks for sharing the info that you received.

This cuff is by Leon Lomakema. Is this a whirling log design? Is it some other kind of design? This was made well after WWII. Just curious. Any thoughts?
