Because of the style and initials AL. Also the history; my husband bought it as old pawn and the story goes a man bought his wife one every year, she died and he sold them all back. Now I would to know who is “AL” and what is the value of this piece

Hello, the piece appears to be 1980s. It is branch coral, the leafs are machine made, the beads are machine made. If we had that piece here probably retail around $1100, do not know the hallmark, thanks for sharing.
