Old elk head ring, any info appreciated

I would love to hear anyone’s thoughts on this old elk ring. I don’t know a lot about it. It appears to be ingot silver, I have no idea what kind of turquoise this is, seems unremarkable compared to the amount of silver work placed around it. It appears to be quite old. What do you think? Has it much value other then me loving it?

This one is attributed to Juan De Dios, pretty special.

Lester James did a remake not too long back.

Wow, that’s gorgeous!

Wow, that REALLY reminds me of Juan De Dios’ work. I can’t say if it’s his for sure, but it looks to me like it could be. I’ve been looking for one of his deer or steer head pieces for a little while now—they (like all his work) are hard to come by. I’m also a little unimpressed by the stone in yours compared to the silver work, and shame about the crack, but it’s still a fantastic ring. Congrats on owning something so special!

It is a neat piece, but the face of the deer is a different style than Juan Dios- most likely a copy of his design, it is a shame about the crack turquoise though…
