I have had this wonderful piece since 1970. At that time I was told it was by a famous Navajo artist, but I have no idea who. It is solid and heavy. Can anyone help to identify and value this extra ordinary piece? I have never seen another piece, so heavy and solid and with so many large stones. Thank you for any help you may be able to provide.
This piece definitely has some age, the stones look like possible pieces of Carico Lake. However, due to the age they could have significantly changed color from the original appearance. Without a hallmark this is going to be very difficult to identify who the maker was, the mystery will remain with that 1970s transaction. Thanks for sharing.
