Old squash blossom ring, need help!

I’m wondering if anyone can help me identify/value this ring. I wish the pictures showed the detail better! The lighting interferes with the patina, too, but it shows a lot of age. The designs look to be hammered, almost primitive. There are no markings on the inside. The ring is a full 2 inches long and 1 inch wide. The stone itself is 1/2 inch. It is a very beautiful ring, and I’ve scoured the internet and not found anything like it, so I’m at a loss. I’m considering selling it, but I don’t want to over or under estimate the value.

Pieces like this reveal a bit of Scandinavian/Georg Jensen design influence, to my eye, even if meant to be Southwestern.

If you do sell, you’d be safest describing this as “Southwestern style” (not naming a tribe of origin, since no hallmarks or history to verify). Here’s one like it on eBay, for reference on description and potential pricing:

Hmmm interesting. I know it has been in our family since the mid 70s

70s seems right for this. I definitely see them posted for sale once in a while. Another one live right now on eBay:

I did just see that one myself! The bezel and designs are closer to the second one you posted. As a side note, my husband is Norwegian so he thinks it is cool that it could be Scandinavian lol

Ha, well, rings like this are unusual but just not rare as hen’s teeth. :slightly_smiling_face:

I didn’t mean to imply that yours is actually a Scandinavian piece, only that it has some nice design qualities reminiscent of the great Scandi jewelry of midcentury, like Jensen. It was massively influential, even on Native jewelers.

Yours is an especially pretty example of this type of ring.

Thank you! I really don’t want to mislead anyone, but I also want to get a fair amount for it as well.

Will do. There is some definite wear on it, and the stone is a bit loose (but not so much that I’m afraid to wear it). I can send you more pictures as well. I THINK it is a size ten, but I need to find my sizer to be certain
