Wilson Begay, Navajo, well-known for his excellent sandcast work. Terrific cuff, enjoy! I can’t speak to the type of turq.

Thanks You very much. But it is not engraved sterling!!??

Hi Val,

the mark shown on your cuff does not match the marks listed in Hougarts 5th edition, something feels a little “off” to me.

where did you buy it?
what were you told about it?
ask a jeweler to test the metal.

I want to buy it!!! But I don’t know if it was tested !

here is the answer of the person who sells the bracelet (on a non-professional second-hand sales site in France):
It is silver, not all Navajo jewelry has the sterling inscription.

This Wilson Begay cuff was sold at the Museum of Northern Arizona gift shop. An equally wonky hallmark. It has a sterling hallmark, but the lack of one is not that unusual.

One missing the sterling hallmark but with equally messy hallmark:

I have quite a few nice pieces (even newer ones) that don’t have a sterling mark. Maybe Chinese turquoise? Whatever it is, it’s a lovely stone! I do have a piece of Lone Mountain that looks a little bit like it, at least at a quick glance. I am no expert.
