Because one needs an appropriate vehicle for hauling turquoise around!!
I had one of these waaaay back, a 1976 Datsun B210. Cute car, knew when my payday was so it could clean me out
mine had a white stripe, even cooler! No doubt a rusty square in a junkyard now.
I had a friend who had a white one in the 80’s - he drove it for 3 years before we found out he’d never checked the oil, or even put oil in it - we were all out having a beer after a sailboat race, and some of us who drove air cooled cars were talking about how we were constantly checking the oil, and the conversation turned to his car (amazing sailor, but not a car guy) …. A testament to Datsun toughness
Those were good cars! My cousin had a 1972 Z car which was the predecessor to what became the Nissan 300ZX. His son still has it and it is still running.
