Film Director, John Ford, 1960s, wearing what appears to be a ranger buckle with three stones on a tooled belt. Been looking to add him to this thread for years.
Wow! That’s some fabulous turquoise jewelry!
@AC pretty sure this is Blake Lively
Tom,
I came across this last night and thought it was interesting. Jimmy Begay Jr. sure performed a magnificent job. That he collaboratively executed the awesome belt with Shiprock makes it even more special. Thank you for sharing!
Kacey looks very nice. Can’t go wrong when Ralph Lauren, Jimmy Begay Jr., and Shiprock are tastefully dressing you. Thanks for posting this, Aaron.
Susan Kohner, The Last Wagon, 1956
What a coincidence - I too am fashionably attired wearing Ralph Lauren… although in my case it’s a men’s flannel bathrobe over my sweats and wool socks and slippers combo since I’m cold. I have accessorized with a tartan cashmere scarf for a jaunty flair.
Just put on a little turquoise and you’re all set I’m not quite as fashionable as you - I’m just bundled up under a couple Eddie Bauer down throws…
As kids we used to bundle up in my dad’s red down jacket when we were cold - it’s called the woobie and my youngest sister still has it. Dad had to get a new one.
Were you watching GRIT TV last night? It happened to be on as well as Warlock.
Flipping channels, saw turquoise, looked up the movie, and Susan Kohner was forever added to the Turquoise Celebrities permanent collection.
I was watching on GritTV, too! I think it was colorized? (Edit: no, filmed in color)
Old movies are the only thing worth watching these days!
I 100% agree with you.
GRIT and METV is about all we watch these days. Seeing turquoise is an added bonus.
I like to research film locations too. The Last Wagon location was Sedona, Oak Creek Canyon and Red Rock Crossing. I enjoyed identifying Cathedral Rock, Belle Rock Butte and Courthouse Butte will watching it.
Warlock was filmed in the Moab, Arches and Canyonland area. I’m pretty sure I caught a glimpse of Dead Horse Point SP too.
A few years ago, we found the location coordinates of the hangin’ arch in Once Upon A Time In The West, 1968. It was located about 15 miles north of Monument Valley (Utah) off of HW 163 in one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. It was surrounded by canyons, as far as you could see in all directions. The arch, which was made of a steel beam covered in styrofoam to look like stone, was extremely dilapidated, but still a thrill to see.
Here is a photo from the internet and exactly how it looked when we found it.
Thank you for sharing the pics. We will have to look for this site!
I’m sitting here in shorts and a sleeveless shirt at 65 degrees inside. I will eventually put on a long sleeve hoodie.
