For the record, Buck Owens has been a member of Turquoise Celebrities since October 2019, post 202.
OK, as the turquoise expert, please educate me. Is this bolo considered Native American? I have one like it and would simply say it was southwestern/cowboy same as his belt buckle. Referring to the top recent photo of Lee Horsley.
His buckle is definitely Western. Please post a photo of your bolo, front and back, so we can take a closer look.
Personally, I don’t believe @TAH ever claimed to be an expert on anything. He is, however, one of this group’s most highly regarded and respected members. Being very well read, a highly disciplined and knowledgeable collector and having studied innumerable photographs containing Native American made jewelry, both historic and contemporary, his opinion carries much weight.
I would like to ask that you please be more respectful in your replies. You mentioned you had a bolo tie similar to the example that Lee is wearing, if you would be so kind as to share it, we would all be more than happy to provide our opinions.
Not to split hairs but the forum is Turquoise People and the topic is Turquoise Celebrities. Although there is an emphasis on Native American jewelry, by definition, other turquoise jewelry fits and the stone in the bolo in the photo in question does appear to be turquoise. NA? Can’t say. Just my opinion.

Yes, my understanding is that this was supposed to be a FUN challenge to share pics of famous people that also appreciate turquoise jewelry (especially Native American made) as art and personal expression.
While the hatband appears to be the same one that adorns his hat in @TAH’s original contribution of him in post # 27, this inlay bolo is a change.
Louis L’Amour
I love Louis L’Amour!!
Now, there is a real Turquoise Celebrity and with a good looking jacket too!
I do as well, Zia. He definitely ranks high among my favorite authors.
I thought the same, Tom. Not only does it have a great look, but I bet it’s comfortable as all get out.
So here’s what’s kinda funny. When I was growing up my family had a furniture store plus a smaller attached candy/ bookstore where we sold Louis L’Amour books. The Amish boys would come in and buy candy and bunches of his books Guess they loved their westerns…
