I have a little cameo ring set in silver that my grandma got in Italy in the late 50’s. I don’t wear it (not particularly into cameos and know very little about them), but it’s the only thing I have of hers so am glad to have it.
@Mafifafi, that SB looks rather odd and not quite right to me. Like maybe someone had part of a SB necklace and attached it to a silver and turquoise bead necklace. The beads with the turquoise look different (round) from the others. But since we don’t have a pic of the front it’s hard to tell.
Your cameo is so lovely! I like the darker shell background on this cameo. It allows the beautifully detailed carving to standout. Not at all surprised that you receive comments when it’s worn.
Hey @Stracci@StevesTrail I love antique jewelry. Here’s one of my cameos. Stamped on the frame with initials & 1/2012K. It’s been a long time since I looked at my collection. I can’t help myself - I’m going to post some of my favorite cameos over in the “Non-Native Jewelry Discovery” category .
Well, a cameo squash blossom necklace is certainly unique…to be honest, I’m not overly attracted to it. Guess I’m a bit of a purist, and don’t understand the mixing of a traditional Southwest style with a traditional Victorian (?) style. I do like cameo broaches, just not mixed up with Southwest style.
