Vintage Sterling Denmark Amber N.E. From Ring

Really pretty. Looks like a neutral or polished white metal finish behind the stones.To me this looks much more natural than the gold foil which I find a bit garish.

@mmrogers
Thanks! It was an experiment, for sure.
There is nothing under the stone, just polished sterling.
I agree, foil looks weird under cabs like this. Plus the foil can discolor and then you have a bad look.

I think foiled stones only look good in antique Georgian jewelry!

Nice job on that ring. I love it. And the cognac amber is gorgeous.

Super looking bangle on that first pic.

I really like amber too. Not an expensive stone, but very pretty. Here is a bracelet by Gliwinski… I was going to flip it when I bought it…but it’s too pretty! So I kept it. It fits but still has original tag on it so I may break it in, I may just pull it out to admire every now and then. :woman_shrugging:

Don’t forget to get the hand lens out to look for insects in the transparent amber. They are in there. Almost every necklace I’ve come across has at least one or two insects.

Thanks Steve :smile: I have done that a few times and the bugs kinda freaked me out a bit lol. My son had a good time searching for them though :smiley:

And maybe the bugs will have some dinosaur DNA…
