The “Breakthrough Navajo” books by the late Alan Wilson, who spoke the language fluently and created UNM’s Navajo Language curriculum are absolutely terrific, Aaron. I had two semesters with Alan at the UNM branch in Gallup, and can still recite the Navajo tongue twister I had to master for the second semester final exams.
It IS a tough language to learn for native English speakers, mostly I think because there is absolutely no frame of reference for someone internally wired for germanic and latin based languages. Also, you have to be prepared for the old ladies to laugh at you when you speak, because they will

Well shoot, Mike, thank you for your kind words. 
But I’ve got to give credit to this community, and @TAH and @Ziacat, specifically, for enabling me. Zia shared a book with me that helped kick off this (other) obsession, and Tom has been instrumental in providing his thoughts. Many pieces that have been shared herein and discussions we’ve had have fueled the fire.
