What exactly is this?

Hi friends,

I am really attracted to this stone, but I just don’t know if it is a legit thing. I mean, is it all one stone, or a few mishmashed together? The seller calls it Navajo sunset gold turquoise. Any ideas?

Thanks, and hope you are all well!

I think you guessed it when you said a few different stones mishmashed together. This is a man made composite stone. The “matrix”, which looks rather metallic, I think is some kind of ore holding it all together. It would be similar to “mojave turquoise” which there are a few threads about on here you can search for.

I also wanted to add that I think this is likely not Native made

Thanks, Orbit. I think I’ll steer clear of this.

Yes what Steve said. It’s a composite material and besides the Etsy store, you can buy it at their KIngman Turquoise store.
