I buy “lots” of silverplate pieces on Shop Goodwill, usually for things like trays that I can turn around pretty quickly in my antique booth, or adding to my growing collection of serving pieces at home.
This double pickle castor was grouped in a bunch of stuff in a purchase (I was going for the tray), it was just valued at $895 by a gal on one of the FB pages I’m on said, "According to Google Search: Antique 19th century English Victorian Silverplate Pickle Castor with Brilliant Cut Crystal Jars by Daniel & Arter, Birmingham, $895 "
It’s kind of gorgeous in person, the cut glass is so precise. And I found a fun American Brilliant cut glass candy jar for $6.00 (I did a deep dive down an internet rabbit hole to learn about it) and now I’m a fan since I have a couple of ABP bowls from my grandmother.
And my sister and I find a lot of Waterford at our local Goodwill stores, that is fun since we used to sell it as wedding gifts etc when we both worked at a downtown high end jewelry store back in the olden days.

I had a booth in an antique mall for 8 years.
I gave it up in 2022. I just wasn’t making money. The booth fees were taking all my profits.
It was fun while it lasted though.
I kept a few American Brilliant glass pieces. They are fascinating.
I love antiques and collectibles, but most of all jewelry!
@RedlandMaggie…Great William Matthews piece! We too love his art and technique. Many years ago we bid on and purchased this piece at one of the early Cowboy Poetry Gatherings in Elko NV. I love his ability to reflect movement in a simple elegant way.
