I grew up in my mom and dad’s Native American Jewelry store. From the early 70’s to the early 80’s, we would travel every summer break for 3-4 weeks to visit the Navajo Nation and all their contacts. Five kids, 2 parents, 1 grandma and a dog, all piled into an old international pickup with a camper and those trips became some of my fondest memories.
I learned to cut stones from my father, who did the repair work, when he couldn’t see well enough to do it. I, unfortunately didn’t learn silversmithing in time before he couldn’t teach me.
After my parents passed away, I inherited the contents of the store and we now sell then on eBay under the store name lcbergh. We also sell Pottery and my husband became a walking encyclopedia on Hopi Potter after we spent a few years in the late 90’s traveling there. We were some of the first to sell on eBay.
