A huge MM Rogers‘s storyteller bracelet

I just bought a new MM Roger’s Storyteller bracelet ,It weighing 129 grams!!!It fits my wrist perfectly.
Also, I noticed something unusual about it: the background of the pattern has a textured, raised and recessed feel, whereas the backgrounds on my other MM Rogers storyteller bracelet seemed to be smooth.

Good Morning, @Jiangxi_cn .

So happy you were able to find a Pueblo Storyteller bracelet that fits you, and honored that you wear it!

This particular bracelet was hand fabricated from my design by Harry Mike Yazzie, and in that size would have been a special order item.

While the overlay pueblo design is created with a very fine jewelers saw, and custom embossing stamps are used to create the doors, windows, roof lines, ladders and vigas, the background texture is done by hand with an electric vibratory engraver of the same type Native artist sometimes use to sign their name to a piece.

All of the embossing stamps used are specially made just for this design, with most being fashioned from steel cement or concrete nails which are very hard steel and excellent for making stamps that will last generations.

Thank you for your introduction. I’ve been fond of such huge bracelets ever since I first knew about them, but most of them were too small. I was very lucky to come across this one and I’m grateful that you made it back then.
I compared it with several other bracelets and none of them had such a particularly three-dimensional concave and convex background.

I cleaned this bracelet once. It will look even better when it oxidizes and turns black.

The silver will eventually darken, though that will take a long time. The 14K gold will only oxidize (if at all) to the extent the metals it is alloyed with are capable of oxidation depending on factors like humidity and contact with oxidants in the environment and from the skin of the wearer.

To darken the background, in addition to the hot liver of sulphur bath or oxidizing compound, we use a durable flat black enamel to enhance the the black background and provide contrast between the raised and recessed surfaces. From your photos, it looks like the enamel is mostly gone, but it can be touched up by a jeweler with good finishing skills if you want to restore the original look and feel.

The second bracelet from top is pretty rare. We only made a few in this format with the reverse background pattern as opposed to the more open design which became the standard.
