hello all I’m just going through some more of my grandmother‘s things and would like some opinions on these necklaces. The Heishi and the beaded ones tend to scare me because I know more often than not they’re imported or at least the imports flooded the market. any info at all would be greatly appreciated. I am very grateful to be a part of such a knowledgeable group and I appreciate each & every one of you. (I do apologize and understand if the mother of pearl heishi isnt allowed as it is not turquoise if it isn’t allowed just let me know and I will be happy to remove it ) thanks again
The Keshi foundation of New Mexico has an online guide to Zuni fetish necklaces and there are various threads in this forum on the subject. The common heishi necklaces are nice but not particularly valuable based on what I’ve seen recently at auction ($30 to $70).
