Another bracelet

Can you identify this bracelet? It has Nakai imprinted on the inside.

I am inclined to believe that NAKAI could be the shop mark. When I lived in New Mexico, there was a NAKAI jewelry shop in the Santa Fe plaza. Maybe someone else on the forum can confirm this?

But as I’m sure you already know, this style is called “chip inlay” and has pieces of coral and turquoise inlaid in the bracelet.

Best, bigbree

Thank you! It belonged to my mother who passed away 22 years ago and I found it when I was going through a jewelry box.

In Billie Hougart’s book, Native American and Southwestern Silver Hallmarks he attributes the mark to Gilo and Grace Nakai. Sounds like bigbree was right on, it is a shop mark. It states that “they have operated a shop since the 1980s. Piece workers supply the shop.” Chip inlay was really big in the 1980s. Thanks for sharing.
