Aztec Mountain?

Does anyone have any information on Aztec Mountain turquoise?

From what I’ve seen in my research, (and I haven’t found much) it looks like Ithaca Peak was formerly known as Aztec Mountain or Aztec Peak, and is part of the Kingman mining district.

I just purchased a ring with a non-matrix turquoise cabochon from this mine. The ring itself is not NA made; however, made in the US by a silversmith in Utah.

If you have any insight to share, I’d greatly appreciate it!

Interesting. I googled it, and first I found what you read that Ithaca peak was formerly called Aztec,

but then I found this. Hopefully Jason and others will weigh in on this.

Weird because Ithaca peak is in Arizona and this one says this mine is in Nevada. I wonder which one is correct.

Thanks for sending this! Yes, I’m quite puzzled about it due to the name change/origin/location—it’s an interesting find!

This stone is a very vibrant blue which honestly looks like non-matrix kingman, and it very well may be, but I’m curious to know more about this mine.

What a beautiful blue!

Then I found this - just a snippet about a Moqui Aztec mine.

Maybe a number of mines have had that name through the years?

Fun to research!
