Hi all, I’m looking to possibly purchase this locally here in Arizona and know nothing about these type of necklaces. These are the only photos and
its about a 5 hr drive to see in person. Seller is asking $300. I like the graduated bead work and color of turquoise. Would you say this is handmade, possibly vintage and is it Native American? TIA.
Good to see you again on here! I don’t know that I can help you with the necklace as far as it’s authenticity and if that’s a good price or not, but it’s really pretty. I don’t think the turquoise looks like block, but what I’m not very good at is knowing what kind of shell the other heishi is, or if it’s vintage. Hopefully someone else will have an idea (especially from a pic). I have read that it’s much harder to fake graduated heishi.
I’m chuckling at something being local involves driving 5 hours But that’s the way it is in those wonderful large western states!
The upper part might be olive shell heishi.
These are pretty bad pictures. To be able to tell anything about it I would ask for better pictures, including some of the clasp.
Yes, wide open spaces : ) Thanks for the welcome back Ziacat.
