Bell Trading Sterling Silver Bolo Tie

I bought this thunderbird bolo tie on eBay U.K. and the seller says it’s was bought in Arizona in the 1980s and has never been worn. It has a “brushed” finish and has been lacquered. I like my bolo ties to age and develop a patina and I tempted to remove the lacquer and buff out the brushed finish as it’s rather uneven. What do you think? Good or bad idea. Thanks.

I don’t know. It seems to me if it was made to be like that, changing it could be a problem, and might ruin the finish.
