Bellows
A source of air—oxygen—to make a fire burn brighter and hotter. The Zunis traditionally made their own bellows, often out of buffalo hide they traded for. The Zuni bellows were very sophisticated, involving a double chamber which provided a steady air flow as one section filled while the other emptied and vice versa. Later there were small iron forges with hand-cranked blowers which offered a steady stream of air. Either method required an extra person to operate.
