BELT BUCKLE OWL MUSEUM QUALITY ZUNI INLAY STERLING by FC GASPER

I have the opportunity to purchase this for $200. is it worth purchasing

Beautiful channel inlay ‘Owl’ belt buckle handcrafted by husband and wife duo Zuni artists Filbert and Clara Gasper. This piece was likely made in the early/mid 70’s, possibly earlier. Laboriously made with multi gemstones and set in sterling silver. Outstanding lapidary work with nice tight fitting channel inlay work. Museum quality!! Measures 2 7/8" x 2" and weighs well over 2 ounces. can accomodate a belt width up to 1 3/8".

First question you need to answer is if this is something you like the looks of and think you will wear.

The price is a fair retail price, don’t know about museum quality and can tell you I have never seen one before (don’t know if that is a good thing or not). Remember that many times a Zuni piece will be light, 2 ounces for a buckle is not a heavy weight, so if you are active this might get beat up, and inlay in a buckle if not done by someone good can be a problem. As far as Zuni made this seems to be the real thing. Hope this helps.
