Belt Buckles & Concho Belts

The one thing I questioned on if your leather is original is the tooled line on the edge of the strap. That is quite unique and not really seen on belts this early. Not saying it’s not original, but something to investigate further.

Good point, Thanks! Certainly could be an early replacement.

@Bmpdvm You probably would have mentioned it, but I’m curious if any of the silver on your belt is hallmarked with “DC-1” like the book belt?

I went over it carefully again and did not find anything similar to that hallmark. There are some faint initials scratched into the underside of the buckle. They’re difficult to photograph but it looks like “J AMMOM”. I’m assuming they may be initials of a prior owner ?

Thanks @TaraFawn75! I do like its design pattern, but it’s a little on the small side. I prefer large, heavy buckles. My rule of thumb is…Heavy is good. Heavy is reliable. :slightly_smiling_face: :+1:

Do you burn more calories if your buckle is heavier? Carrying more weight around maybe?

@TAH, Awesome stamp work around the edge! It was nice of them to write your name on it for you! Did you buy it?

I didn’t buy it. It’s very nice, but a little small at 3 inches. Description says 1960s vintage.
