I know we may never be certain about which mine turquoise came from (unless we acquired it from the person who mined it) but may i ask what the Turquoise People think what these stones might be?
Wonderful. Curious what the experts here will say.
First moon shots: Kingman, Bisbee, Hubei.
This looks like material from two different origins to me. The mother rock is distinct and very different, gray on one hand, and a rich reddish brown on the other. Reddish brown looks an awful lot like Bisbee, which has an almost purple gradient from turquoise to matrix. Don’t know what the stone the the gray mother stone is, but the veins of turquoise look very hard, and very blue - Blue Gem like.
Thank you, and i’m thinking along the same lines
Thank you, at first i thought it was all one batch, but now i also think that it might be 2 different types of material. To me too the reddish brown stones look exactly like some Bisbee that i have, but i just cannot find that grey hostrock in any Bisbee anywhere.
I’m considering very hard to send specimens of both types of stone to have them tested in the lab in Texas that i see getting mentioned more and more. I’m very exited anyway, this was a beautiful deal and can wait for it to arrive.
Shoot what a day! The stones arrived and luckily i had the time to fully indulge in 'em. What ever type of turquoise it is, it’s all natural, almost a kilo of it! I sliced some bits (that would fit my dremel saw) and love how most came out. A few ‘chocolate’ nuggets were only host rock, but i think they look nice in their own way and might cut them anyway. Also did some rudimentary preform cabs. Will probably back them tonight and will cut and polish asap. This might be my best score so far
Beautiful material! Congratulations!
Thank you, i’m super happy with it!
You did well! These are all beautiful.
Thank you! (I’m happy with how they look so far, yet am curious how they will take a polish)
Went into a little cutting frenzy last week and i’m quite happy with the way this turquoise turned out after finishing.
There was a lot of waste rock though and some good stuff shattered on the wheel but i’m a very happy camper overall.
(fwiw i now like to believe think that the material might be Persian Neyshabur turquoise)

Hope you enjoy!
Beautiful! I love that brilliant blue with the dark matrix - they seem to glow, and you did a great job.
That really dark one in the upper right corner looks like it has a little star of turquoise
Thank you! I also love that and the way it sometimes goes from a darker blue to a light blue. And i saw that star too haha and was super careful to not cut it away (:
