Black Coral?

This year I was given a large collection of rocks, fossils and minerals by a friend. Her parents collected items from around the USA in the 1960’s through the early 2000’s. Purchased some items. They also made jewelry from them.
In the collection was two, 1 quart bags filled with what I think are natural, black coral.
These have been polished. I did the acid test and it was positive for coral.
These are not glass or plastic. Some have the traditional markings of coral.

I posted this on several other groups and was told that they are glass. Counterfeit coral. Dyed white coral. Etc.
Please if anyone can let me know what I have I would appreciate it.
The pieces are mostly rather thin. Some are broken and black throughout. Some do have the traditional ridges of coral. None have bubbles associated with glass.

Are there any other tests I can do to determine of they are black coral?

I can provide more photo’s

Thank you

One person told me that if this is real black coral, it is very valuable. I am not being too optimistic.
This person said if it was real, I would have several thousands of dollars worth of it.
If it turns out to be that I would return half to the person who gave it to me.

Just a quick note on these. Not sure what they are, but I did notice while I was browsing the internet for black coral that all of the pictures that say they are of black coral show that it is hollow through the middle.
