Recently i’ve found a good dealer for rough turquoise here in my country. Usually the stones i purchase here come with some kind provenance, either the mine it came from, or at least the country where it was found.
Sometimes though, there is no provenance at all, like the stones in this topic.
The black matrix, quartz and amount of pyrite make me think that (most of these) might be Morenci. Or Kingman, Ithaca Peak perhaps.
I have some Persian turquoise that has a lot of pyrite as well, but those look very different.
Are there other mines that i’m overlooking? Happy to learn more about these stones!
Thank you @Bmpdvm ! i’m very happy with 'em and am looking forward to see what they will look like after polishing. I’m gonna back them first though, since a couple of the pre shaped cabs seem to have snapped when a previous owner worked them.
