Brass and turquoise pendant

I picked this up today at a garage sale. I can’t remember reading anything about brass and turquoise. Is it done very often?Any thoughts about this?

What does the back look like? Are there any markings?

No marks at all.

The daughter said her mom got it in Santa Fe. She didn’t know when or anything else about it.

I have several Native American pieces but they are marked and by well known makers. I don’t think too many worked in brass. Maybe @Jason or some of the more knowledgeable people will offer their opinions. I hope you enjoy wearing it.

Thanks! I do love my finds! I put this one on as soon as I bought it and have been wearing it all day!

Not as uncommon as you might think. During the run up of silver during the 1980s several silversmiths opted to use some brass.

That’s beautiful! Love the necklace! Love the color of the brass in contrast to the greenish turquoise color!
