I accidentally dropped a US mined shattuckite cabochon. The stone is not backed, and the tip of the cab broke.
Any recommendations on repairing?
Beautiful stone, so sorry that happened. I dropped a white nephrite bangle on tile and I was so upset. You may be able to have it reshaped. Thankfully it was the edge and not the middle. Edited: Was the diagonal line there prior to dropping it?
Oh my! I’m so sorry to hear that.
I may not use this cabochon for any jewelry–if that’s the case, I may just use Epoxy 330 to piece it back together. Yes, the diagonal line in the stone was there prior to dropping it.
