Cameron Trading Post Vintage Shop

Mildred in the vintage shop spent a good deal of time with us. We bought a man’s Bisbee ring, Wilson Padilla Story Mountain ring and Anthony Lovato Kingman corn cuff.

Wow! Amazing stuff! Those rings are beautiful, and now you and your hubby can match. But that cuff ! You did it - you found your A Lovato cuff! And it’s so unusual; I don’t think I’ve seen another one like it. I’d say you will probably wear it every day, except now you have quite a few to rotate through  (I literally wore mine every day for months on end)

I said in my thread last year that Cameron Trading Post never lets me down, and it looks like it didn’t let you down either  I’m so happy for you!!

Now go eat a Navajo taco the size of your head to celebrate

Congrats on an excellent regrouping and fine purchases. No asianative American pieces here.

Thank you @Ziacat We didn’t have time to eat Navajo tacos at Cameron as we had a dinner reservation at
El Tovar.
I was so pleased to find an AL bracelet that fit me. It is thinner than the others I had tried on at Garlands. I really liked it because it is a bit different.

Thank you @Stracci I liked the Stormy Mountain ring as it reminds me of an immature saguaro.

I hope you had a fabulous dinner!

I read your note while riding a Grand Canyon shuttle for sunset pics with a number of Asians. :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Thanks again!

Have been in the exactly same places yesterday.
Seen this wonderful buckle @ Cameron TP but it was $3500.

While I am not a belt buckle wearing gal, I do appreciate the cabs in this one. Did you go into the vintage shop?

Question for you @Ziacat. Does the 2 2 in the AL hallmark qualify this as a 2022 bracelet?

Yes, that is the year it was made; mine is the same.

When you say the vintage shop, do you mean their Native American Art Gallery which is in a separate building? I know it says they have vintage jewelry, but it’s not all vintage, since cuffs made in 2022 wouldn’t be considered vintage. Mine was also from the Art Gallery, but they told me they occasionally take a few items from there, and put them for sale in the main building. I’m glad they did or I wouldn’t have gotten my cuff, because the gallery was closed when we were there.

Damn it, not seen. But won’t buy any more anyway.
Also I feel all the stuff was very highly (over?) priced in the restaurant shop.

It probably depends what you’re looking at in the restaurant / shop area. That was where I got my Anthony Lovato cuff, and it was priced better than any I’ve seen anywhere. The gallery section was another building.

We shopped in the smaller building. There were some jaw dropping pieces in there.

Thank you for letting me know about the date on the hallmark.

What, no more buying? But I think you still need a couple awesome cuffs

Traveling from Spain to Arizona next Saturday :blush::blush::blush::blush: , we have Cameron Trading Post in our route!!! Also we will sleep there and hope to try those Navajo tacos.
Hope to find beautiful pieces to buy, it seems Cameron Trading post is a crucial and must stop if you are in the area.
Also, we will visit Grand Canyon, Sedona, Tucson, Tumacacori…… I am so interested in Southwest, mines, history………. Have read a lot about Turquoise and story in the last months….

Oh, you will have such a wonderful time!! Cameron Trading Post is very special, because of its history, it’s setting, and the fact that it is Native owned. If you can stay in the hotel there, it’s lovely. It’s exciting that you get to visit so many amazing places! Grand Canyon is crazy crowded, but if you just take a bit of a walk down the rim trail (which is accessible from any of the pull-outs and from the Grand Canyon Village area on the rim) you can get away from the large numbers of people. I also advise taking the west rim shuttle for a bit, and then getting out and hiking. Talk to the rangers, and they will give you great information.

Garland’s in Oak Creek Canyon north of Sedona is also an amazing shop, and I have read from a number of Native artists that said they treat them very well.

Welcome to Turquoise People, and definitely post us some pictures  I’ve never been to Spain, but I imagine it’s an absolutely beautiful country. Maybe someday, although I have a hard time not constantly going back to the Southwest
