Have looked through several books of hallmarks, with no luck. It was my grandmother’s…she lived in Tulsa, OK, from 1926-1998 and also spent a lot of time in Pagosa Springs, CO. I don’t know anything about it. Besides the artist, I’m curious about the thunderbird on the back…is there a reason to have something so detailed on the back of the piece?
I could not find this hallmark in any book. It is not uncommon to have such a detailed hallmark. You would assume that the piece is Native American made because of a Thunderbird hallmark, but I don’t think this piece is. Pagosa is a place that draws lots of spiritual people due to the hot springs and Native American presence, which inspires creative people to use turquoise and silver.
