Can we share our squash blossoms?

@Tinyturqgrl
Hey, there’s a thought!
You just might have something there. I wouldn’t be surprised! Can’t wait to see your stone. I’m going to go look up CC and see what that stone is about.

@Tinyturqgrl
Yep, it sure does look like that! I bet you’re right! They started mining it in 1939 so, the age of the necklace could then be correct. Good call.
We may just have an answer.

I’ve been looking through some of the Harrison Jim jewelry for sale in a few of the stores out in the Four Corners area since we’re headed out that way fairly soon. Even though I’m not in the market for a squash, and I don’t wear gold jewelry at all I wanted to add this one here, because it is absolutely amazing. I’ll do a screenshot also for when this link disappears. I’m really drawn to his work (but I’d probably have to mortgage my house for this one anyway :laughing:).

Certainly not Dry creek! Your thought about White Water could possibly be correct (?). Here are some stabilized White Water cabs I purchases back when I was collecting cabs from known mines (missing Lander Blue…darn!).

They are very pale with a brownish matrix, and although it could have been made in the 80s, I don’t think they are White Water. I do have some White Water, and the squash doesnt look like it at all but, its always possible. Let me get a closeup of the stones in bright daylight. It’s raining right now so it might be tomorrow.

Here’s some close ups. What do you think? I’m not sure.

Yep, in natural light there is a distinct difference, thanks! Nothing like the Whitewater I’ve seen. I have seen turquoise with that “milky” infiltrate, substrate, whatever you want to call it, but it’s not specific to a particular mine. If I had to guess, Fox would be on my list as a possibility. The mine produced a huge amount of turquoise in varying shades of green and blue, and can have a brownish matrix. Also, it can have that milky appearance.
That’s all I got:blush:. Thanks for the additional photos.

Yes, the color does look like fox mine. I’d have to send it off for testing to know for sure at this point. I just don’t know lol

@Ziacat wow, I have never seen a gold Squash Blossom before! That is really awesome! However, just a tad out of the price range at $80,000! Definitely a year making piece for the artist!
