Coin Pendant

Since this group has been the most reactive to my previous post across all platforms here is another.
Trying to determine maker and age range.
This medallion appears to have some brass ? Copper ?
Don’t think it’s gold . which thru my research was not used a lot in Native Jewelry but here we are, it also appears to have had at one time a coin in the center as the prongs don’t lend themselves to holding a stone, my coin for reference.
which makes me think this is quite modern and possibly not even Native Jewlery. So what is the groups thoughts on this one. No makers mark, weight 35g/1.2oz
Have had others say possibly Paul Livingston from Chruch Rock NM. As he has used old coins in his work before.

on the back of your pendant I can see very faint traces of writing.

only you, having this item in hand, will have the best shot at reading any of it.

I have taken it as far as this working with photoshop.

you may need something like a digital microscope where you can vary the angles of lighting if
using a loupe or magnifying glass don’t help.

Have you tested it for silver? Copper is a component of silver (as you probably know) and I have different cuffs and pendants that react differently. Some with coin silver especially will develop that copper look quickly and then I have others with higher grade silver that are much slower to tarnish. That’s a cool pendant and the coin look is nice. Have you considered doing a coin replacement so that you can wear it?

Thank you Steve, I will look again, I did use a loupe but I was also getting eye fatigue from inspecting several other pieces my wife acquired. If that fails I do have a local jeweler who has a digital microscope

As far as testing for metals present, I have not done that yet. We have a local jeweler who we are friends with and we are going to take a few of our items to him for evaluation, as a bonus he collects and resells Native jewelry. All of the pieces we have, we acquired thru an auction of unclaimed safety deposit boxes from a bank.
Several of our pieces have hallmarks, I have only posted the few that do not and that we “feel” could be very old, as in late 30’s thru late 60’s. At this time we don’t even care what valuation they have, we more interested in the history of the items
